Great Ayton 0.8 miles.
Situated just outside the pretty village of Great Ayton, on the edge of the North York Moors, these properties are the result of the sympathetic conversion of three old stone barns, set around a central courtyard. Care has been taken with these Great Ayton cottages to retain original features, with exposed timbers, pitched roofs and stone floors, all complemented by modern comforts such as underfloor heating, open plan living space and freestanding baths. These Great Ayton cottages are wheelchair-friendly and offer ground floor accommodation. Traditionally furnished, these delightful Great Ayton cottages benefit from a sunny, communal courtyard, and use of a 3 acre field, ideal for a game of football. A spa at a local hotel is only a five minute walk from these Great Ayton cottages, where day guests can relax and indulge in a bit of pampering. To the north of the village, the view is dominated by Roseberry Topping, a 330 metre hill. In the village are a good range of shops and inns, which, together with restaurants and cafes, cater well for holidaymakers. There is also the old school, now converted into the Captain Cook Schoolroom Museum. Around the village are several interesting walks and Great Ayton makes a great base for walkers wishing to explore the stunning countryside around, especially in the summer months when the moors turn purple with blooming heather. Underfloor heating throughout. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer in communal laundry outside, colour TV with Freeview, DVD. All fuel and power inc. in rent.
